I'm sellng my THURAYA HUGHES 7101 Sat phone and charger.
From the company blurb..... Thuraya Hughes 7101 is a satellite handheld mobile phone with integrated satellite, GSM and GPS technology. The Thuraya phone offers a wide range of services including voice, data, fax, short messaging and location determination. Total Mobile Solution Thuraya handheld phones opens up a world of roaming. Thuraya enables you to access local GSM networks and link to satellite mode outside of that service area. If you are in Thuraya’s coverage area you can make a call to, and receive a call from, anywhere in the world. If you are outside Thuraya’s coverage area you may be able to use Thuraya on GSM mode in areas with compatible standards. Turaya provides border-to-border coverage to 99 countries in Europe, the Middle East, north and central Africa, the CIS countries and south Asia—a landmass inhabited by an estimated 2.3 billion people. The phone has done me well in the last year or two since owning it and is in good nick, the battery holds a charge well and I've found it's cheaper to use the sat phone for Middle East to UK than a mobile! Topping up is not a problem with buying credits and a new SIM card on the internet. As it says, if your not in the satellite coverage area then it'll switch to GSM mode as a normal mobile phone! It's the same size as an early mobile phone so to some it's a bit of a brick. It has a SIM card with it and I'll leave credit on it to keep the number going or buy a new number. Price; $400 or GBP equivalent
