The HUBB PUBChat forum - no useful content required!
BUT the basic rules of polite and civil conduct which everyone agreed to when signing up for the HUBB, will still apply, though moderation will be a LITTLE looser than elsewhere on the HUBB.
We've had a code update on the HUBB that should fix any issues with the new right hand column. If the HUBB "looks funny" or is too narrow with the Forum description squished up, please force a refresh to get the latest code update. (Hold down the shift OR ctrl key, and click the refresh button on your browser, OR Ctrl R, OR on Macs, Command R). If you still have a problem please post it here.

The GT Rider Forum gets and upgrade
Here is the full email for those that are interested.
Hi there, GT Riders!
Well, repeated requests for new features and improvements to the Forums
have painted us into a corner.
There are many important elements missing from the current Forums - not
least of which is;
- image resizing that handles over-sized photos automatically
- full integration with FaceBook, including your Post details into your
FaceBook news items
- integration with other social media sites
- a built-in Event Calendar within which all Registered Users can list
- user Blogs
- user Albums, Friends, special interest Group Messaging
- online Chat
At the same time, the problems of keeping the current phpBB3 forum system
going, let alone make it
smarter, have combined to push the GT-Rider.com webmaster over the edge...
Just doing a simple version
update is a nightmare because we've got so many custom code modifications,
plus 3 different design
templates in operation...
So, here's whats happening!
We're finally moving to a fully-fledged commercial Forum, CMS & Blog system
called vBulletin 4 Publishing Suite. This has readily available Tech
Support. It comes complete with all the features on, or proposed for, our
This change represents a significant investment in my time and and David's

- installing and configuring the software
- setting up all the new features
- doing trial data conversions
- testing that it is all working as expected

- Posting will be closed on the old forum on evening of Sunday 12th
- all posts will then be imported to new system
Design Themes: for those who liked the dark design on the old Forum - yes,
we will add one of those once the transition is completed.
Links in old posts will need updating. The database import does not convert
the [youtube] links to the vBulletin [video] format, so either you do it
for each of your posts, or I will find and edit them as time permits.

Membership - Show you're proud to be a Horizons Unlimited Traveller!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events such as this one (18 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or
to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and
knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
