Where can I buy MEFO Super Explorers in the UK?

I am curently attempting a RTW trip and I am stuck in Istanbul with little to no tyre choice.

I have decided to get tyres in the UK and get them brought over here, and really want to try MEFO super explorer tyres.

Does anyone know where I can buy them? Time is also important, so ideally somewhere with stock..
I tried the only link I could find on here and had no joy.

Cheers Chaps

Gabriel - you're hard work! reminds me of the 5 'P's' ... Shhhessshhh!

In addition to the info I have already given you in your previous 'help' post
I have telephoned MEFO in Germany for you but they only have the REAR Super Explorer and no fronts until mid May- ( 140/80/18 and 90/90/21)
Mefo-Sport GmbH
Mühläckerstrasse 1
D-97520 Röthlein

Telephone +49 (0) 97 23 - 91 91 - 0
fax:
+49 (0) 97 23 - 91 91 - 19
email: info@mefo.de
but they do not sell direct to individuals- you would have to go through a dealership.

Delticom probably can get that rear for you-
Germany's biggest tyre dealership is DELTICOM
Simone Fritsche
Delticom AG
Brühlstr. 11
30169 Hannover
Tel. +49-(0)511-33611649
Fax: +49-(0)511-33611655
fritsche@delti.com
who might be able to help you

If you go to Delticom dealer page, there are tyre dealerships by country here

I have also telephoned Pneus-online in France but they have no Mefo super explorers- They may have alternatives- I did not ask as it seems you are solely focussed on those Mefos- I understand your desire but it may be worth considering alternatives Gabriel...

A suggestion:
That you consider the MITAS ME 07

I get mine in a different size from Bob at C Wylde & Sons Ltd 0044-113 246 8888

WATLING Tyres (speak to Adrian) in the UK -
He might be able to help you ( he does NOT do Mefo or Mitas) 0044 208 6903366 he can get most tyres but you will have to arrange DHL or the like for pick up.

If I can be forgiven for saying this- you're better off to buy in UK & to carry hard to find items like specific tyres, sprockets, DID 520 chains, filters etc as they are rare as hen's teeth and chances of getting them always very time consuming and expensive and always seem to be DHL'ed from home in the end-

Heidenau K60`s

Many thanks Bert for your time and effort.
I receive my telling off gracefully and without protest!

I and some very kind friends in the UK, had no joy at all trying to find these MOFO`s.
I take your point about planning, but at some point you have to take the plunge and leave, and for me at least, it`s ınevitable that something will be overlooked. Or many things.

You are right about the alternatives, and following a recommendatin from a motorcyclist far more knowledgable than I, the following tyre has ben purchased, and will be with me in Istanbul on Tuesday next week...

Heidenau K60

So hopefully these pupies will get me accross Mongolia and Russia!
I think I`ll run my current tyres into the ground first, and get another coupe thousand miles from my chain & sprockets too if I`m lucky

Thanks again Bert

Talking

Glad to lend a hand Gab- and as far as the 'telling off'....confused! Just reading your posts, I just thought that you really made a rod for your own back Gab!
Always glad to provide info - I know what it is like not to find something your heart is set on! (strangely enough....like K60's for the 1200... taking months of sundays to get here Grrrrrr!!!)
Quite right to wear your stuff until it's U/S- a bit of love and care on your chain will add miles to it especially if you are gentle with the throttle (unlike on the HUMM...)
Have a fantastic time out there tovarich
