Little Help?

New to HUBB and desperately looking to solve starter problem on Suzuki 1500 intruder (1999) After starting, starter will not turn off. Must put bike in 5th to choke out. Have talked to 2 shops and neither have a clue and I don't have the $ to let them experiment to find. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a problem with the the starter. With out looking at it bit hard to tell. You may want see if it is working right. That it running free or it binds up. Then look at the electrical going there from the battery down it may be a stuck solenoid. This not something I have had to deal with so I am just running down problems that may be there.

This may be of more help.

Probably a stuck starter relay. Prise it open carefully & clean the contacts with emery paper, very similar to a set of points.
