DRZ and Low octane/ Leaded fuel

Hi all,

I was hoping I could recive some advice on what a DRZ400 is like running on poor quality fuel??

I'm planning a long overland trip using a bike powered by a DRZ engine and Keihin FCR39 carb.

Am I likely to need an octane no increasing additive??

Fuel is improving all the time...

They run fine on 80. Didn't have to use anything lower on our UK to Central Asia to Mongolia to Siberia trip. In fact in Mongolia there was a fuel supply 'issue' at the time so we couldn't get 92 otherwise we would barely have had to touch 80 at all in the whole trip.

Regards,

Yup... Mine ran fine in Africa on some very dubious stuff.

Officially, it will run on 85 RON but mine ran on watered down elephant piss.

Obviously, make sure you have a decent filter and carry a spare one too.
