Nema - Nara

I'm planning on doing the crossing from Nema to Nara in August - has anyone done it at this time of year or know if it can be done?

Is it passable in a 4WD landrover? How long? Toby2 mentioned that he did the trip from Nouakchott to Bamako in 3 days but that was at a different time of year.

Thanks

B

Hi,

I was there in october, and it was dry. Heard some great stories of people who passed earlier. Mud ploughing and stuff with there peugot's. In the end they got trough evidently.

Hi there

I passed there last year in August riding a bike, lot of water and mud, but made it. You will have little prob on a 4wd. Very frendly people but careful of Mori officers at the border'.
You may do it in one day with a bit of luck, there is no much along the road to spend more time(this is my humble opinion anyway).I may suggest that
you take Timbedra-Koumbi Saleh-Nara, it is said to be more rewarding, no direct experience.
regards
alessandro
