maure/mali boarder

hello
is there anyone out there who knows about the boarder crossing south of ayoun el 'atrous,past kobenni,it looks like Gogui on the map,the town on the mali side is Nioro du sahal. Can i get visa there or not.
i don't want to pick one up to early(rabat)because of the trouble in mali,may have to alter plans a later date. any help would be very welcome.

Not sure you get a visa on the border, you might get a 5 day visa which you have to prolong in Bamako, it's a very small borderpost where probably everything is possible for a 'price', but easier is to take the visa in Nouakchott. Take care, this year they asked money to stamp the passports on both sides in Nioro du sahel, you shouldn't pay, and take care not to cross on sunday, it will cost you 10 euro in the police office ( we couldn't get out of that one)
