Best way to get from Bamako to Dakar? Train or taxis?
I need to get from Bamako to Dakar. Does anyone know how long the train takes, how much it costs, etc.? How about bush taxis?
Thank you! |

Train - 58000 cfa for a first class sleeper, don't knopw about the others. My train (last month) was changed from wednrsday departure to friday - I couldn't wait. If it runs, expect to take 2-3 days.
Bus - 25000cfa, good quality buses, the road to the border is now good, except for 60 kms of piste from Didiema. On the Senegal side it is still a boneshaker. Bus takes 36 hours, you stop at customs and sleep overnight (wherever you can). Dave |
