Malaysia customs at the second link

I came from Singapore to Malaysia yesterday via the second link. But I think I may have somehow missed customs. I got the stamp in my passport from immigration but nobody was around at the custom booths. I did find a guy eventually and asked him what I was meant to do but he just told me to carry on. So at the moment I am legally in Malaysia but as for the bike I don't know. Customs won't have any record of it entering the country.

Anybody have any experience of this border? Do I need to go back and do it again properly? The whole thing still seems weird to me.

I recently crossed from Thailand to Malaysia (and back). Malaysian customs couldn't have been less interested in the bike. It wasn't checked entering or leaving Malaysia. I didn't even have to get off the bike when I was stamped in and out of Malaysia (special bike lane). If you plan on leaving via a land border, it isn't a problem. By air might be a different matter.

If you want to ship by boat to Indonesia ore somewere else you probably need a stamped Carnet. That means back to the entry border to get the stamp. Going to Thailand schould be fine.

Ok, thanks both. I'll probably just leave it for the moment and do a quick customs run before I ship out
