Laos bans entry of all motorcycles ???
Saw this on GT-Rider...was going to pick-up a VN registered bike for a ride thru VN/Cambodia/Laos/VN. Looks like I'll be renting as I go, now. We'll see how events unfold...here is the link:

Got our bike into Laos
Dear Group,
We brought our R1200GS into Laos from Thailand yesterday, near Vientiane. It was a bit of a process but it seems do able. A german we were speaking to at the border said he was told you couldn't bring bikes in, but maybe it is just the step throughs and the 125cc. good luck!
