Fuel tank size?
I'm planning a trip down through Mexico and Central America on my KTM 620 and was wondering if a 13 liter (3.5 gal) tank is a comfortable and sufficient size tank for the trip? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Paul

![]() Really, I can only speak for here (Mexico)--as long as you are on the main roads, Pemex stations are not far apart at all--80 or 100 miles of fuel capacity is usually plenty. If you expect a long stretch of no gas, carry an extra gallon or so in a plastic container--much cheaper than a new tank. Central America may well be different. Also different is if you plan to spend lots of miles off of the main (=paved) roads--your fuel consumption will be MUCH worse. Good luck... |

hi,
i traveled in central america for 5 months on my KLR which has almost 6 gal tank. i never used more than 4 gal (200 miles) between 2 gas station. i´m sure i could have done that with 3.5 gal tank. don´t worry about that. eyal |
