Driving on the beaches in Bahia, Brazil
In an attempt to skip thE dreaded BR-101, I woulod prefere to drive along teh coast. There are some patches without roads however. And on one of them (Curumbau-Caraiva) I drove along the beach. I would like to know if it´s posssible to do the same on other stretches. Do anyone have some info on this?
thanks, Daniel |

Hi Daniel
I have done that the entire Litoral from Santos up to Natal, and crossed several rivers with barcos etc. just at some points e.e. Porto Seguro, you have to get back to the 101. Breathtaking small unpaved (enduro) roads from Aracaju until Recife. But it is worth also to leave Palmares 100 Km south of Recife for Caruaru, the largest feira de artesana in Brasil, and drive back to Recife on a brand new 4 lane highway. I have much more info on that, and will be back for a Brasil roundtrip on my bike in Sept . rgds Rainer ------------------ RSP
