Cratagena to Bogota
Hey all, several travellers have told me the road from Caratgena to Medellin is unsafe due to bandits iof hold ups...any body got any news?I am leaving cartagena tomorrow for BVogota, may stop over night in Medellin, anyone want to join?

The road from Cartagena to Bogota is not dangerous, however I suggest you only drive in the daytime. Night time driving here is akin to a suicide mission. Cartagena to Medellin will take you 8 to 12 hours depending on your style of driving. The last time I did the ride I took 11 hours. Medellin to Bogota is a very unpleasant ride, in my opinion, however I think 6 to 10 hours is plenty of time. Good luck and ride safe. If you make it back to Cartagena, look me up Martin
