Shims in Argentina?

Doing the valves on my KLR 650 here in Buenos Aires and am having trouble locating the shims I need. I am staying at Dakar Motos (which is the obvious first place to look), but does anyone know of another place in BA or in Argentina that could be a resource for shims?

Thanks,

- Tom

If by chance you find that the shims are too large, you can always get them ground down at a metal workshop. We did this for my girlfriends KLR in Chile when we were told no one had shims for KLRs. We worked out how much smaller they should be and the guy in the workshop ground them down to the required thickness ) Write on the back the new thickness though. Been working fine ever since.

A hot sirloin tip, and a clever approach. Alas, the shims are too small, so no machining can save me. Any places in BA with Kawasaki or Yamaha (both have models that use 29 mm shim) shims on hand?

Hi... The Dakar guys probably already toll you, but there is an area in Buenos Aires, where the motorcyles (or a bunch of them) are together the area is Cordoba Av. and Pueyrredon Av., there was like 4 or 5, and there is another area, this one mostly for cars and some bike shops, in Warnes Av.
If you sitll didn't find them, write me and I call some of my friends en Buenos Aires and see where we can get them...
Good luck...

BMW uses 29mm shims

Some of the BMW K bikes use the 29mm shims, so try them also.
