Zagora (Morocco) - Timbuktu (Mali)
Hi everybody, does anyone had done this route? Could you give me any information about main waypoints and cities?
Which is the best time to do this route? How much time do you spend? We're planing to do this route in 3 4WD (1 Landrover Discovery, 1 Mitsubishi Montero and 1 Toyota LandCruiser HDJ80). Thanks in advance!

Hi,
the direct route from Zagora to Timbuktu closed: - no legal border crossing between Algeria and Morocco - The NW region in Algeria is off limits to Tourists - The area you have to cross in northern Mali is very insecure. The alternative: Morocco - Westsahara - Mauritania - Mali

I'm thinking of this over Dec/Jan. Then maybe Tillaberri - Tahoua - Agadez - Algeria? Any big no-nos wrt Western Niger? Any other issues? The route from Mauri to Mali looks a bit circuitous: Dendara - Segou. TIA

Hi, the route fron morocco-west africa-mahuritania-mali is the one I want to do, I want to cross from Nouakchott to Timbuktu, is this possible? What are the principal Waypoints?
