Where is Omar Mansour?

Hi all,

I have been trying to get in touch with Omar from Alexandria for several weeks now, but with no luck so far. He's an active HUBB-er, and I would like to meet up with him when I get to Alexandria in a couple of weeks or so.

Does anyone know where he is or how I can reach him?

Cheers from Khartoum, without a in this heat

Gee

With the current tense security situation in Egypt it is quite possible that internet access is selectively restricted. It has happened in the past, also mobile calls are monitored and blocked, especially from abroad. I find it very difficult to keep in touch with contacts in Egypt.

It could also be that Omar is travelling himself, be it for business or leisure, in which case he may be away from email for a bit ...

A local Sudanese newspaper reported that Omar was at the new border crossing between Sudan and Egypt...that was about two or three days ago.
I would think he is already in Khartoum Now.

Hi all,

O.k., so I've filled the diesel tank with 165 liter of fuel and the water tank with 100 liter, ready to go for the desert north of Khartoum, waiting for a traffic light. In the car next to me a man lowers the window:

"Are you heading North?"
"Yes I am."
"I am from Horizons Unlimited, Omar Mansour!"

Well if this isn't a coincidence.

"It's a small world," Omar says.
"And it's a beautiful world today!" I reply.

Like Tao says: If you look for something, you won't find it. It will cross your path.

Cheers from Wadi Halfa,

Gee

So true!
Please update about the road and the crossing when you get to the Egyptian side.

Regards

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
