Africa this summer and fall

Hello, I am finally embarking on my african trip which I will start in Spain where I plan to buy my wheels then cross the med to visit Morocco and go south from there.
Id like to converse with people who have done it or plan to do it and any help and tips will be greatly appreciated.
thank you

Sergio

Sahara in summer...

Would not want to put you off for a minute, but I think the lack of visible enthusiasm from old Sahara hands is perhaps a hint...
Re-posting every week is unlikely to change that

You've had two people volunteer to help you with questions, so I don't understand why you felt it was necessary to start two more threads since then. I have combined your three threads into one.
______________

To cross borders with a motorbike you need to have vehicle papers in your name.

You can't buy and register a motorbike in your name in Spain unless you either have a residencia or a NIE tax reference plus a empadronamiento.

when did you go through Africa? did you camp a lot? is it easy to get potable water in small towns/rural areas?

thank you

Hello Simon!
Sorry about the delay to respond.
did you pass through Nigeria? if so, did it feel safe? any places that you recommend visiting in west/south Africa?
I have questions about the daily needs such as getting food and water, and their average prices, etc.

thank you

Hello. I'm kinda learning how to use this webpage and yes, I accidentally made an extra thread.
thanks for letting me now. I know about the NIE/empadronamiento requirements in Spain and most likely I'll do that.
Thank again.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
