What a story, Steve, thank you for sharing with us.

Points I will take with me:

1. Make a post-it note with your insurance info and emergency numbers and put it in your passport. I(t's probably the most useful document you have. Protect it.

2. Then WEAR your passport- even in ordinary driving conditions.

3. Your point about emergency phone # is well advised.

4. Buy emergency evacuation insurance. If you had a one of the good policies, your entire family would have been taken by private plane to the hospital of your choice in UK, the next day.

5. Bad things happen to good people.

Hi Steven,
I'd like to thank you for posting the details of your accident, Suzanne ( my wife ) and I are going by m'bike to Morroco in october and your story sharply brings in to focus issues that I would hardly have given a second thought to, KevinMc summed them up, I also think I need to get round to that first aid course that I've been putting off for the last few years !

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
