bandits attack in Air mountains
hi everybody
I have to report that in the 29-12-02 we were attacked by armed bandits on the pist from Elmeki to Timia, exactly 10 km north east of Elmeki. We were on two bikes and a 4wheel. The bastards took almost all our money and part of the luggage. The jeep for some reason refuse to start, so was saved, the bikes were of no interest to them WE were not armed but we were held at gun point for almost one hour, while they thourougly search everywhere. Some locals mounting camels passed by and went on like nothing was happening. I heard later in Agadez that other people were recently attacked in the same area. Can anybody confirm this? Happy new year

Bad luck!
 But remember, mMaterial possessions are not important in the long term - you are lucky to be safe and well. Your equipment canbe easily replaced; your health cannot! Thanks for the info.
