alcohol in Morocco

I know it is a bit of a odd question, but as I'm travelling through Ceuta (which should be tax free) I was planning to buy some wine reserve, as I've heard there is little chance to get some in Morocco. So, I just need to know whether is it allowed to take it through the border and what is the legal limit.
Cheers

Dont know what the limit is but Ive taken, from memory, five litres of Scotch and a slab of through before now - that was one car and three of us. Prior to that Ive always taken at least a litre of Scotch - no hassles, and we didn't try to hide it either.

There's plenty of booze around - I saw on sale in shops - quite openly. Even in small towns.

So perhaps you'll be OK - not sure about the prices though - I guess you'd have to negotiate. Also the fixers you might meet if staying in hotels might be able to sort - I was offered whisky a few times - not sure if it would be any good though...

Hi Radek
My last trip to Morocco was fairly ‘dry’
I avoided all the big towns (I was on my way to Mauritania)
The first booze shop I found was at Agadir, 1000 miles south.
That’s a long way to go, so stock up on the ferry, I didn’t have any trouble on entry. Good luck

Hi,

I've been to Morocco several times and never saw alcool for sale in shops, but only in mid/high range hotels.

Don't know if it is legal or not, but carry my "personal reserve" hiden in the car when crossing the border. Even if legal, the police would certainly ask for one or two "botteled souvenirs" ;-)

Regards,

NCR
