145 euros for a Carnet in Spain
Hi all,
I have just phoned the RACE and they said me that the cost of a Carnet de Passage is 115 + 30 (administrative member tax) euros. If applied in Madrid, it takes about 5 days until you get it. It has 11 or 20 pages (depending how much you are going to travel) and cost the same for both. For my car (Opel Astra 1600 from 1993) the deposit is only about 900 euros (this is also the value given by the insurance companies in case of accident, so I hope that I don't have an accident as a fault of a 3rd party, because when I bought my car 1 year ago I paid 2700 euros). Unfortunately, I think that they only issue it to spanish cars and to people with a spanish residence permit, as they asked me if my car was registered in Spain. Good luck when fighting against bureaucracy! |
