Spain - Portugal Jan and Feb
To escape the winter and post Christmas blues here in UK I am thinking of riding down to Southern Spain in Late Jan / Early Feb. Will probably ride down West of France from St Malo toward Biaritz to cross into Spain. To avoid high-ish ground and poss bad weather I may ride through part of Portugal. Any pointers on best route to avoid weather / snow etc greatly appreciated.

To avoid bad weather in Portugal, you have to avoid going north of Coimbra (check Multimap website) the south has temperatures about 10-20C in that time of year, up north you should have rain and in some places snow until the end of April, not very pleasant to ride, regretably the best views are in the north.

We traveled Through France,Spain,Gib then back last year in Feb -4 snowed in barcelona so rap up warm.

Stick nearer the coast and avoid central Spain to keep warm. If you are interested in going off-road in Portugal I am based in the interior near the Spanish border and would be happy to show you some great trails through beautiful countryside.
