This question has not been answered, gentlemen, as far as I can tell. I plan to be in Lithuania in mid-July and would like to ride along the entire length of the Curonian Spit from Klaepeda across the border and into Kaliningrad to Zelenogradsk.

From what I've discovered so far, UK residents must enter Kaliningrad elsewhere on the mainland and missing out the Spit.

It also seems that as a UK resident a visa is unecessary and I'd be allowed in for four days and three nights.

I did find a Kaliningrad information page in English a while ago but it has since alluded me .

Hi
if you are in Lithuania then you access the curion split via a tiny ferry at Klapedia , its a chain link one and takes only a few minutes . there is an entrance fee to the split , cant remember how much . the last town / village is nida , we just turned up and found a flat to rent .dont accept the first offer as the local old ladies tend to ramp up the price and my mate is / was a local !! you then walk up the dune and you can gaze over at Kallingrad . There is no road so you cant go from one country to the other . mind the mozzies as there are loads of them .
if you happen to leave via the big ferry to Kiel you do virtually the whole length of the split on the way out .
klapedia is full of very fit looking woman in audis and big four by fours , park up in the big hypermarket in the town centre and wonder how all the ugly looking local guys get to marry / shxg super models . Unfortunately it aint by rding a fly incrusted ST1300 and looking like a tramp

Hi bikeriders,

Due to changed plans I suddenly ended up with some spare time,,, planning to travel from Sweden, via Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Aland and back to Sweden. Would love some tips and hints. Will most likely start 18-19 of july and end up approx two weeks later...

Search "Estonia" on the forum... I've posted some detailed recommendations before.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
