Offroad FINLAND - RUSSIA

Hi all,

We are doing a round trip this summer to Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finalnd, Russia etc... most of it will be offroad (Sweden and Norway) but I am having troubles to find offroad tracks in Finland (N to S) and in Russia.

Is there anybody who can help us out? You can always send us your info/tracks.

We would appreciate it very much!!!

Seb & kim

The very main through roads in Russia are generally good tarmac or concrete, but can be in poor in places.

However almost all other roads/tracks shown on maps and away from towns are loose, unsealed ranging from good graded gravel or earth to muddy morasses. Forest tracks add to the choice but may not lead through to anywhere.
You will probably enjoy them all!

Right now Moscow is a pretty rough 'off-road' sction following a colder than usual spell (I saw -33C one morning).

Hemuli, message sent!

Tony, thanks!!!
We won't do an extreme big tour of Russia as we don't have to much time, probably only from Finland to St Petersburg to Moscow and back to EU... but then we will definitely take al the smallest possible routes we can find on the map!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
