NY to Atlanta in September

Since there is only little trafic in the Noth America board, I repost my plans here:

ello everybody, this is my first posting for a long time and I am begging for your opinion. My plan is to do a trip from New York to Atlanta in September. The Blue Ridge Parkway will be the central part of the route.

So far so good. This is my plan:

on foot over the Brooklyn Bridge
on foot throuht Manhatten
- City Hall
- St. Pauls Chapel
- Ground Zero, Battery Park City, World Financial Center
- Wallstreet, Trinity Church, Stock Exchange

Noon
South Street Seaport – Lunch and strolling aroung (pier 17?)

Afternoon
Taxi to Grand Army Plaza,
Central Park South
Central Park
Broadway
TimeSquare

Saturday, September 13th
Forenoon

Sunday, September 14th

getting the bike
on the road part 1

finding a hotel
strolling through the downtown

Blue Ridge Parkway

Friday, September 19th
Blowing Rock – Little Switzerland - Asheville /92 mil
Blue Ridge Parkway
Wheels Through Time Museum
62 Vintage Lane
Maggie Valley, North Carolina 28751
Open: March 27-November 30
Thursday-Monday — 9a.m.-5p.m.
(Closed Tues & Wed)
Wheels Through Time | The Museum That Runs

Saturday, September 20th
Asheville – Cherokee
with a detour on 276
Blue Ridge Parkway
Museum of the Cherokee Indian
https://www.cherokeemuseum.org/

Sunday, September 21th
Cherokee – Tail of the Dragon – Smoky Mountains

Monday, September 22th
Smoky Mountains - Gainesville

Tuesday, September 23th
buffer

Wednesday, September 24th
Gainesville – Atlanta
return the bike

Thuesday, September 25th
Atlanta

Friday, September 26th
Antlanta and flight back to Europe

The days on the road are more or less a rough guess since I do not know at which mile posts I will stop and which sights I will watch.

What do you think, does my plan make sense?

Are there other companies besides Eaglerider that offers one-way rents from NY to Atlanta? The offer from Eaglerider seems to be realy OK but I allways like to have a second offer.

And last but not least could you recommend a hotel in Manhatten?

Thanks in advance.

Skyline

Ditto with what's been said about skyline. Awesome road, very active park police. At front royal just before you get on the Skyline there is a really good place for breakfast. I think its called the apple house or something, awesome doughnuts made to order.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
