TVIP duration in Venezuela (?)

Does anyone have first-hand experience with the Temporary Vehicle Import Permit duration in Venezuela?
I am travelling in SA and am hoping to find another country that may have a longer period of time available to leave my bike. After an initial email and subsequent response from the Ven consulate it would appear that they may allow a 1 year TVIP and I am wanting to confirm this before I start to look for a secure location for storage.
Currently I have been leaving my bike in Mont. Uru with Kevin and Willi Lemes and they are excellent and highly recommended. Sooner or later I need to ride home to Canada and am looking for 1 year of storage somewhere north in SA.

One 3 month TVIP with one 3 month extension for a total of 6 months for year is allowed legally in my experience but I've had my bike in Venezuela way longer and it is my experience so far that the customs are not tracking tourists bikes very hard. I've had mine legally on paper in the country for more than 6 months this calendar year and it will likely be there much longer without legal papers as I broke my leg riding there in July of this year and don't expect to go get my bike for at least another six months.

I've crossed four of the land borders of Venezuela and it is easy enough to ride out without checking your bike out of VZ, getting back might just be a little harder if you are needing to. Cucuta would be the easiest imho.

You might prefer Colombia as a good alternative, I've left my bike in Colombia for over 8 months without issue only requiring some creative paperwork as it seems they are not tracking the tourist bikes to the extreme that other countries do and on the plus they don't put anything moto related like VZ does but I've also flown in and out of VZ four times without problems for what that's worth.
