One of the must do things while motorbiking around the Beijing mountain ranges is a stopover at the Chinese restos serving fresh caught trout, grilled on top of charcoal - delicious......

Beijing to Weichang overnight ride, cloudy misty day on the way up and all day rain on the way down.
No worries, still a great ride through the Chinese outback....

Some info about Weichang Manchu and Mongol Autonomous County: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weichan...onomous_County

Overnight stay in the Weichang Hotel, typical very basic Chinese hotel with a few associated restaurants and KTV / Karaoke outlets next door...

Breakfast from the snack bag preferred as I am not a big fan of rice porridge, century eggs and dumplings....

Quick visit to the Donghuamen Night Market not far from the Forbidden City and Tianamen Square in Beijing.
A sight in itself, the bustling night market near Wangfujing Dajie is a veritable food zoo...

Rolling back to Beijing, my second puncture right on the expressway, must have driven over a lane divider reflector or reflector bolt mounted into the asphalt as the hole was a perfect round, shaped like a bullet hole.
Had to use two sticky ropes to seal the puncture perfectly and secure. Now the real danger was standing in the right lane (emergency lane), in China crazy drivers use the emergency lane as a regular driving lane all the time..... TIC = This Is China!

China works in mysterious ways, really do hope the government powers refrain from turning the great mountain ranges and grasslands around greater Beijing region into the "big modern city dream".......

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
