SELLING: Toyota Landcruiser Prado 1998 3.4 petrol SUV, Botswana based and registered

Hey traveller,

We are selling our hero, a fully equipped Toyota Landcruiser Prado (1998). She has a 3400cc petrol engine, is RHD and has 164.000 Km on the meter. She is registered and currently located in Botswana, where travellers can easily register cars on their own name (talking from experience and research, Botswana is the best place to buy a car and start your overlanding trip in Southern Africa).

Gearbox: Automatic
Fuel: Petrol
Country of Registration: Botswana
Year of Registration: 2017
Current Location: Central Tuli Block, Botswana -> will be brought to Gabarone
KM: 164.000
Price (Euro/USD): 15,000/17,500. Price negotiable.
Date of last service: July 2018. Service intervals: every 5,000 - 10,000 km

History:
· Imported from Japan
· Bought in Gaborone 09/17
· Two overland trips in southern Africa (one through Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and one through Botswana and Namibia).

About us: All three of us are from The Netherlands. Our passion for Africa comes from our time spent there during research for the master thesis Nature Conservation. Sander is now Research Coordinator and guide in central Tuli Block, Botswana (Instagram: dutch_guy_in_africa). Lars and Kellie are setting up a nature conservation and community development project in Kafue National Park, Zambia (for more info on their plans or blogs on their overland trip see: By Life Connected or Instagram: ByLifeConnected).

Reason for selling our hero: Sander hasn’t got the time to use the car. Lars and Kellie are buying a car registered in Zambia.

The car has functioning airconditioning, radio/cd/USB, airbags, ABS, 4x4 system, electric windows and electric mirrors.

Extras:
· On top: Frontrunner Roof rack, Frontrunner roof tent (1.4m) including ladder and mattress, collapsible camping table, fresh water tank (40L), two fuel jerrycans (20L each) with two jerrycan holders (including locks) and a gas bottle.

· Inside: Everything you need to camp comfortably and safely. Fridge (40L), Dual Battery System (with energy level monitor) to power the fridge, two drawers with locks, seven storage containers of different sizes, cooking stove, cutlery, pots, pans, cups etc. Heavy duty air compressor, puncture repair kit, 6 ton bottle jack, fire extinguisher and triangles, shovel, camp shower, washer basin, two camping chairs.

· Outside: 5x BF Goodrich All Terrain Tyres, bought NEW before Botswana-Zambia-Namibia trip (1x spare), NEW shocks (rear: old man emu, front: default), NEW front suspension (after check-up we decided to replace it for safety reasons), NEW brakes, Frontrunner braai grill, stickers and reflectors to enter Zambia.

Are willing to come to Gaborone to have the car checked out by an independent mechanic! In Botswana the car can be registered on your name after you buy it, residential or non-residential.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!

Think that should read 3.4, not 3.6, unless the engine is modified.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
