Renault B120 4x4 Ideal Expedition camper for sale

Renault B120 4x4 Specialist Vehicle

Due to a change in personal circumstance I have for sale my very rare truck

I purchased this only a few months ago with the intention of turning it into "Expedition Overland" Camper
Very similar to a Uni-mog this Renault B120 4x4 was used initially by the Yorkshire Electricity board and as far as I can ascertain it originally carried a Cherry picker/crane attachment on the back.
It was designed, built and upgraded by Reynolds Boughton who specialised in Army and Specialist trucks,
.
It was used as a unimog and as such was deigned to handle the most demanding and toughest of terrains.
It utilises a air powered 4 wheel drive system complete with difflocks,
I did have a full Hydraulic system but some parts are now missing.
It is a fairly light truck weighing in at about 3 tons and has a gross capacity of 6.5 tons so can be driven
on a normal car licence (subject to your age and catagorys allowed).
I recently spoke to the last owner who owned the vehicle since 2009, they used it on a daily basis as a shunt truck and to carry a large compressor around their yard. It hasn't been on the public roads since about 2009.
It is classed as a "Specialist Vehicle" on the reg document V5.

My intention was to purchase a large van/lorry box body put it onto the back of the truck and convert it into self sufficient and self contained living accomodation and to go travelling to Russia, Mongolia, India, Africa etc

Overall the truck is in very good original condition, the chassis is solid the engine runs well, it changes gear as it should and the air and 4 wheel drive system seem to work,
As you can see from the pictures there is surface rust in places but nothing major, it just needs a bit of a rubdown and paint on the chassis. The cab is also in very good condition but the drivers seat is worn and could do with recovering or replacing. The stereo does not work!

On closer inspection I have found that the handbrake cable is broken, NSF brake caliper is siezed (I have taken this off for repair) rear lights need connecting to work which i will try and sort over the next few days.

The truck has a tachograph fitted which shows about 13,500 km's. I would suggest it has actually done slightly more than this but not a lot more as its only been used around a yard for the past few years.

I've tried to cover everything I will be sad to see it go but I just can't see it been finished by me for the purpose i purchased it for.

Its ideal for either a camper conversion, recovery truck, off road vehicle etc
It could even be broken for spares as there is some expensive quality items on it.

Any questions or to arrange a viewing please do not hesitate to contact me on 07912056773 or by email more pictures available on request
The truck is based in Derby. England and I would suggest a low loader is needed to move it any distance.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
