Yamaha 2002 R1

Hi guys
looking at buying a R1 2002 fuel injected model, the bike is emaculate condition ,noticed a bit of a rattle in the motor around where the pipes go into the head, after i went for a ride . i then left for home then called into a few bike shops which have R1's but they arnt fuel injected ,but they sound smoother in the motor, i told the guy there about the noise in the fuel injected R1 and he started a fuel injected kawasaki for me and it sounds just like the fuel injected R1 , so i figured it is just the fuel injectors working, thats what the dealer told me as well, anyone else experienced this before ? cheers haydn. and coments appreciated .

Cool Rattle bang boom

Fuel injectors sometimes make a lite ticking sound, but a rattle? I would be suspicious unless you had a bunch of money set aside for the new cam, head, camchain, cam chain followers, valves etc. etc. or it could be a loose bracket....
