Is the new agent in the Nippon building?

I was there with my wife to help some people out this summer.
They wanted help with the customs and the procedure in the company.
My wife speaks mongolian, so she could translate.

This company seemed professional to me.

and the custom procedure was a half our work for 3 persons to get their bikes out of the passport…..
So nothing what should be a hassle…..

Don't know if the new agent is in the Nippon building. They were opposite a VW car dealership.

The procedure is as easy or as hard as the new Mongolian agent or "new" Mongolian Customs "rules" want to make them. I can only feed back what Paneuropa is and isn't telling me.

All I know, is I've already had to deal with a lot of bullsh!t and extra "new" expenses and am expecting more "unusual" requests for "fees" to come.

I would not recommend anyone, especially friends that I want to keep, to ship anything into or out of Mongolia.

Opposite the VW dealer, yes, that is them.

Well, I wonder what happened, it was quite easy when we have been there.

I did not send my bike, i usually drive always foreword and back on my bike….

But the people with we have been there had it quite easy.

Anyway, you have problems, would be interesting if it is just you or if it ends up being a new way of making money….

Latest news on my Honda Transalp = No news, except that the German agent has agreed that the extra new "magic" fees will not be paid by me.

Honda shipping timeline:
1. Bike crated in late August

2. Container scheduled to leave in October

3. As per today still not left Mongolia, possibly going next week... Or not.

An aside: The previous container to mine left Mongolia 3 months late!



This year: I was also involved in getting another bike I bought (Rebadged Aprilia XChallenge) from Magadan to Europe.

1. Handed RBA to Olga at DVS tour in Magadan around 20August for journey on deck of ship to Vladivostok.

2. Transferred to container and loaded with car and 2 other bikes into container to Rotterdam (using Yuri Melnikov at Links Ltd)

3. Bike collected by me in Rotterdam on 23November (Dutch customs agent = Peet van Dam at Mainport)

= 3 months. Olga, Yuri and Peet were all competent and professional. The entire procedure ran without even the hint of a problem.

Conclusion: You win some, you lose some.... Or... Avoid Mongolia as a shipping hub if you want to increase your winnings above a ratio of 50%

And to be honest, i have to post the information from my buddy, who drove to mongolia with me and sent his bike home via Pan Europa.

I thought his BMW is already here, but it is not.

He is waiting since august (!!!!) to get his bike home.
And they tell him new storys and excuses all the time.

Maybe this is really a common problem in between.

Hi Chris thanks for feedback.

No firm plans yet depending on which state the bikes will be when we get to UB. However if we can ride we will get to Irkutsk and get the trans Siberian from there.

If bikes disintegrate we will abandon them! The advantage of cheap eBay bought bikes

will be transported back by sambor. You will find him here on the HUBB.

In case you want to abandon your bikes in Kyrgyzstan, we will help you.... and flights to Europe are only around Euro 300.- at the moment.

This bike arrived evenutally... 4.5 months late (in mid April 2014!) If you want details of which shipping agents to avoid, both in Germany and Mongolia, please post here. I will gladly provide the name.

wow ! That was a long wait ! But you got it, that's a good thing

All theses shipping your talking about are by boat, right ?

I am planning to ship my bike by plane fro ulaa baatar to bangkok, as a guy I know did it last fall and it worked out pretty well. He gave me contact of his agent, I will give you a report here.

Also, I would like to send a bag back to europe with a few stuff that I will not use for the rest of my trip (like camping gear!). What is the best way to do that ? By freight directly at the airport, or by a transporter like DHL ?

If I can ship the bike, then, I can also send the bag from bangkok, if easier and/or cheaper..
