Question Japanese TW225 for Mongolia

Hello Riders,

Can anyone help me with information regarding how to buy a Yamaha TW225 from Japan to import to myself in Ulaanbaatar. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ride safe,

Assuming you don't want to go to Japan and do it all yourself, try Japanese Motorcycles GooBike Exchange | Best Place to Find used Japanese and Foreign Motorcycles or just google something like "japan motorcycle export". There are companies that will get a bike and send it to you. You will probably be responsible for all of the import procedures in Mongolia yourself. Maybe you could get one for cheaper if you followed the FAQs link in the previous post. But that is intended mainly for residents, and documents etc. for someone intending strictly to export are very different. Factoring in air fare to get to Japan and time working out the details, the only benefit from actually going is that you can see what you are getting before you buy.
TW 200 & 225 was very popular for a time in Japan (seemed for a while to be the bike of choice for young men in the city), so there are plenty available. Condition may vary, however, as they were often ridden by guys who really didn't care about their bikes (and were not very good drivers either).

Thumbs up Us tw200

I don't see any clear-cut info on how to buy a TW225 from Japan for Mongolia. I'll likely just settle for a 200 from The States.

Thanks Joe.

Thanks Chris. I have seen Goo Bike, but the prices are a bit heavy. I am looking at a total (bike + fees) of around 3000-4000 $USD from The States. If I'm looking at 5K minimum for a 225 from Japan, I think a 200 will do.

Much Olbliged,

Pete
