general visa info (iran)
another thing that might be handy to know for those who ride loops from europe to the stans and back:
we wanted to get all our visa before leaving, so that we wouldn't have to go visa hunting during our trip, and we nearly pulled it off. we started out applying for two visa at a time per country, one heading east and a second heading home. apparently it is impossible to get two visas for the same country before you've used one, but most countries were willing to solve it by giving us double entry visas with a very long validity: we got a sixty visa for iran which is valid for six months, and double entry. and a triple entry, also valid for six months, sixty days in the country for uzbekistan. the only one we didn't get sorted was (no wonder) turkmenistan. ;-) good luck! g&t
