GPS Maps
Currently traveling in South America myself, and my plan also was to use a GPS, but after much research regarding this topic, I found that there are no available GPS maps for the areas in question. You will have to use maps, and if you get geographically misplaced, ask, and ask allot, as timings and directions will change depending on where you are and who you ask.
Good luck and safe travels |

I am currently north of Cartegena and have used a set of gps maps for my Zumo 660 that are Bolivian maps but have guided me through Bolivia, Peru and Colombia. It has all the main and B roads but not the minor nor unpaved roads. It is routable but the routing is dubious either parallel to the road, straight line between waypoints, across mountains or along rivers. apart from that they have got me here.
Not sure how big the file is but PM me with an email address and I will do my best to send you a link. There are some reportedly excellent Zumo maps for Colombia sold by the son of Sory from Asurias bike shop, just around the corner from Casa Blanca Hostel in Cali they sells for $100 as a download and a single user licence. I decided not to invest as we were here for only 3 weeks and have managed without but on a couple of occasions we wished we had. |
