2003 Opeongo Mountains Colour Tour
October 4, 5, 2003 "CANADA"
For the second year this innovative 'off-highway' event for dual sport "Adventure Type" motorcycles, will start each day from the Land O Lakes Inn, on Hwy. # 41 in the quaint village of Cloyne Ontario. An interesting and exciting adventure ride of up to 300 kilometres through the Opeongo Mountains area of the Madawaska Highlands. Ride for fun or take part in the 'Rally Connex Challenge' (to be explained in full at sign-in). Easy routes and shortcuts will be included with the GPS upload. Suggestions for gas, lunch and photo stops will be provided. The organizers will have a chase truck on the course and the route will be followed-up by sweep riders. The second day's ride will be entirely different and somewhat shorter but just as much fun and will also be swept by chase riders. BIKES This ride is be designed for 650 cc Dual-Sport bikes, and will feature some alternate routing and short-cuts. Alternate routing will allow this ride to be undertaken with larger BMW "GS" type motorcycles. The ride will be best undertaken with knobbies, although 60/40 street/dirt aggressive dual-sport tires will be fine using alternate routes. ACCOMODATIONS Headquarters for the ride as well as the start and finish each day will be at the Land O' Lakes Inn in Cloyne Ontario: . Phone: 613 336 9054.
