And , good to see that at least in some place in the world, progress is not moving at such ridiculous speeds as it does here in the Northern European madhouse....

I´m not sure of that. Morocco is growing very quickly. There is a long way but they are each time closer to Europe.

I´ve got an old issue of National Geographic Magazine, march, 1932 with many pics and I plan to repeat these pics nowadays. I´ll tell you.

With the amount construction going on (roads and housing) they'll be catching up with Europe. Also the cost of living will be similar. Talked about this with a friend (French) living in Tarodant and he thought it would take ten years.
If the military decides they've had enough and the king is dethroned, it could come to a halt. But he is popular with Moroccans and they like the change they see. I think corruption is the main issue.
Let's enjoy it while it lasts. An old berber in Agdz told me that Morocco may change, but the Draa Valley will always remain the same.

Yes, if the country grows as in the last ten years they can catch us. But there are great diferences: poor people are very poor and rich people is very rich. Anyway there is an emerging medium class. I do not know about economics but I think this growth is solid.

You have said: enjoy it while it last and it´s the true. I often visit "my moroccan family" at Agdz and ten years ago we enjoy very much trying to comunicate under the light of a candle for hours but nowadays they lie in front of the TV...

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
