Getting TIP and visa in Nador possible?

Hi!

We are thinking about saving some km's and take the ferry from Sete in France to Nador in Morocco.

However, I can't find out whether I can obtain TIP, insurance and visa in Nador - like it is possible in Tangier.

Anyone?

Nador is a good port of entry and the formalities are very quick.
I prefer Nador to Tanger, but you have to drive a bit further unless you are going east.
You don't need a visa if you are Danish.
And your green card should cover Morocco??
It does for Swedes.
If not is is available in Nador.

Hi!

Thank you very much!

My green card does not cover Morocco (Veteran car) but as long as I can buy local insurance in Nador it's cool

I think we would go east from Nador and then along the algerian border.

Best regards Peter

I used to like Nador too until I discovered Tan Med was so easy, but the last couple of times I never managed to buy assurances frontiere there.
The booth in the port was always empty and Axa or whoever by the roundabout where I got it once did not do it any more, I heard.
Maybe someone has more recent news?

TIP you can print off online in advance - see here - or they will do it manually at the port. No probs either way.

Have a good trip.

Hi Chris

Tan Med? Where is that?

I am not sure I understand your post completely. Is insurance not available in Nador or in Tan Med?

Cheers!

OK. To clarify - 5 mins to buy in the kiosk at Tan Med (next to money change).
Not available at Nador last couple of times I passed through (2012 most recent) and I found impossible to buy once on the road in east Mk towns and cities. Was advised to try Meknes, iirc.
There may well be an insurance place in nearby Nador town, but as the boat usually arrives late afternoon, you'd have to start looking next day.
