FYI insurance in Morocco from UK

I rang Carol Nash (brokers) regarding bike insurance for morocco.

They mentioned
Group Armour have cover - no premium/additional for travelling to Morocco
Aviva Premier bike charge 10-£18 (depending on length of stay) on top of the cover price
Zenith have 3rd party only in Morocco and charge £30 for th trip (2 weeks)
Aviva Paramount have 3rd party only and charge £10-20 on top of their normal premium (depending on length)

Cancellation policy's for group armour are £25 if cancelled within 14 days so would this mean you can get the insurance, ride in morocco for 2 weeks and cancel the policy then rely on your 'normal' insurance in Europe? is it illegal to be over insured?

longer dates for cancellation are within 1 month if premuim was £200 you would get 200-70 = 130*0.75 = £97.5 so a similar price to seperate cover in Morocco (90 euros)

Thanks for that Men, very useful.
Prices seem about the same as buying it locally (which is not always easy at some ports).

Green Card and Morocco cover on UK policy

I've just renewed insurance on my KTM 990 through Swinton.

They have confirmed after talking to their underwriter that in addition to the usual euro cover, they will supply a green card that also covers Morocco. This meant changing from Equity Red Star to Axa (I think). I'm yet to see the documents, though.

Does anybody know of UK citizens living in Morocco that have made use of local insurers on a long term basis instead of using UK insurers. I have seen a few AXA signs throughout Morocco and will check them out, but you never know, there might be more or better options out there?

Cheers in advance

Dann

AXA Green Card

Have received the docs now. The Green Card provides cover for these countries in addition to the EU 29 for a little over a month, at no additional cost:
CH, AL, AND, BIH, BY, HR, IL, IR, MA, MD, MK, RUS, SRB, TN, TR
