Saudi transit visa in Yemen
We are looking into a route Iran(currently here)- Dubai- Oman- Yemen- Saudi Arabia- Jordan
We heard mixed reports on people getting transit visas for Saudi in Sanaa. Can anybody confirm if this is possible? We are an unmarried couple in 1 car btw. Thanks

It's pretty difficult getting transit visas for Saudi Arabia but being in a car might improve the chances. Being an unmarried couple won't.
I'd be amazed if you got visas for Saudi Arabia under such circumstances. Good luck and let us know if you succeed. Stephan |

Does not look too good then :-(
Only alternative would to go to djibouti, although I do not look forward to yet another boat (and all the hassle in the harbour). Anybody with recent experiences? With a car? What about visas for Djibouti & Sudan? Still hoping to hear from somebody who got trough Saudi. Would a travel agency be an option?

Maybe not Djibouti?
Hi,
Don't want to take wind out of your sails but I took my bike from Yemen to Djibouti several weeks ago. I waited for 5 days for a boat and well you may have been able to call it that?? I did not notice any boats that would take a car even a C2V but if you can afford to wait long enough you maybe lucky. I did look around in Aden as well for a boat or ferry but there wasn't one to be found. I wish you good luck and someone may know what it is like to export from Aden? Cheers Ivan |

Looks like we will go via Turkey, Syria instead. We heard Kurdistan is a beautiful area too *sigh* ;-). We don't want to risk being stuck in Yemen and having to cough up whatever money the few boats who do sail charge for the journey.
Maybe in a few months we can try again in the reverse direction, so it would be nice to hear people who succeed going trough Saudi (or take a boat Djibouti-Yemen with a car)!

I have a similar question... after getting the runaround regarding an Iranian visa, I entered Syria from Turkey instead. Syria is fantastic so far, and I'm quite happy for the diversion! (That's another story.) Now, I'm looking at options to visit UAE from Jordan... is a transit visa possible for Canadians? (Jordan to UAE) thanks a bunch. (Though, from what I've read, it doesn't look very likely. Still, OFFICIALLY it appears possible.)

This thread is out of date (October last year). ![]() You won't get a transit visa for Saudi Arabia because you need a sponsor for work purposes or to visit a relation who is employed in the Kingdom. Not a good idea to forge documents as it would be a jail sentence if found out. ![]() You can get a jail sentence just for speeding. ![]() Cheers Ian |

It is out-dated, yes. But not everything is so black as it is tried to be presented here. A transit visa in Sanaa is no problem. Women can only enter the Kingdom accompanied by their adult male close relative, i.e. father, brother, son or husband. The visa of the country at the other side of KSA has to be in the passport and you have to hand over the vehicle documents. Count on 5 days for the visa to be issued, so plan them for Sanaa sightseeing as it would not be a wise idea to leave the city without any documents.
