Riding motorcycle Turkey>Israel>Turkey

Sorry if this is an old questıon. But I cannot fınd recent info so I must ask..

I wish to ride from Turkey to Israel and back.
I have no carnet which I dont think wıll be a problem.
I have no visas, which may be a problem.
I have 2 passports whıch I think may help.

Is this possible?
How best to go about it?
Any ideas on total cost of paperwork?

I am ın Turkey now and was thinkıng of flying to see a friend. But flights are over 300 pounds and I thought trying to ride there would be more fun and possibly cheaper...

Many thanks for your help

.

You cant driving from Tyrkey0Israel, because Sirians will not give to you start come back from Israel. If you come in to Israel, you cant go via Syria back in Turkey, just aeroplane or boat Israel-Turkey. Carnet is no problem. Best wishies...

2 passports

I was thinking that I could use my second (and blank) passport when I go from Jordan to Israel and back. Then when I return from Jordan to Syria it looks as though I have just stayed ın Jordan the whole time..

Only problem then is that I will need to use the first passport when I get to Iran.

Does this make sense?

Hi there,

We did almost the same tripp, October 2008,but not way back again through Syria. So ,we used ferry from Haifa to Athens.
For visas I think you can apply at the entry border for Jordan, but not sure for Syria.Without carnett de pasasage is no problem at all,so you have to pay for Syria about 98USD(36USD insurance+62USD temporary import) by entry and the same by your way back(reentry). For Jordan 37JOD(22JOD insurance+15JOD temporary import) + 5JOD tourist tax+5JOD reentry tourist tax.
With two passports I think is the best way to enter to Israel.Hope this help.

Regards,

Simon

Hello baron,

I just got back from my trip to israel. I parked the bike in Jordan, because there is no way of getting youre bike in without getting stamped. Maybe it's possible with two pasports, I don't know.

What the money concerns; you are going to spend 300 pounds at the Syrian and Jordan borders anyway, ad the cost of petrol and your probably of cheaper flying.

Visas at the border where no problem at all, but if it's the same for you (I'm dutch) I don't know.

Rinus

Fickle bugger isn`t he!?

Thanks very much for your help and advice chaps.
Once again I have changed my mind, and will cut out that part of my trip entirely.

It seems to me there is a difficult balance to strike.
I want to see as much as I can, and it seems silly to be in this area without making the most of it. But there is only so much you can do, and it seems equally stupid to spread yourself too thin, seeing everything, but rushing everything.

I am finding this balance, and for me it means travelling slower than most, and taking my time to settle in places before moving on.

Save something for the next trip!

Hi, I am finishing a Stan´s Trip. I am in a ferry in front the Acerbaijan city of Baku; I just have to be in Instambul by the 24th July to spend a weekend with my girlfriend who is flying from Spain. After that, I have no plan. I was wondering what´s next because I do not have to be back in Madrid till the first of september. So why not going from Turkey to Jerusalem and the others Christians Sacred Places to pray a little just to say thanks for all the luck I had travelling across the World on a motorcycle.I think it could be the perfect end for 15 months of riding.

So I need to know something about what It ´s been said here. How long could it take to be back in Greece. Can I get visa for Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Israel at the borders? If not, can I get all of them in Instambul? How about carne du passage?

How about ferrys from Israel to Greece or Turkey? Do you know if they are working and how long do they take and how much is it?

Thanks
