Ankara to Teheran

Hello

I’m planning to drive with some friends (motorcycle)from Ankara to Teheran an back to Ankara.
We plan to do as much as possible off road tracks.

The idea is to put the bikes in a truck in Portugal and collect them in Ankara (eventually Istanbul because I’m reaching the conclusion that will be much more cheaper). Fly to Ankara do the above loop and fly back to Portugal.

Questions:
-I already have some off road tracks from Turquia but I’m still missing tracks from the northeast Iran. Does anyone can help me here? Lake Orumiyev, Jolfa, Tabriz, Rasht, … Teheran

-My plan to send the bikes to Ankara is to be close enough to Teheran for a 10 day loop trip. I’m finding some difficulties to find a reliable transport to there. Any help?

Thanks in advance

BTW: is someone want to join us please let me know!

Hello Bernardo,

* Don't know about "logistics". May be better idea trying to send from Spain or France.

* You will find local people very helpful in Iran. I recommend you to be "careful" though.

* Recommend you to ask for help about this topic in "Lonely Planet" and "Tripadvisor" Iran branches. Sure you will have more answers and offers. Better to to find somebody who has a M/C.

* North and Northeastern part is a better place to ride, people there are Turkish origined.

Hope this helps

Enjoy your ride...
