Team HBP are fundraising for Practical Action

Practical Action are a great charity that 'challenge poverty through technology' - ranging from fuel efficient clay ovens to save firewood to solar panels to help communication in remote desert areas.

In 1983 a team of Vespas entered the Paris-Dakar Rally. After a gruelling few weeks of 20 hour stages, riding in the dark and very sore bums only half the bikes finished with the equivalent of millions of Euros in backing from Piaggio.

In 2012 we are doing a similar event (from Budapest to Guinea Bissau) on old pizza delivery bikes we blagged off Dominos, with a 300 quid Vauxhall Frontera as our support vehicle and only enough money for the petrol to reach the end.

500 km of off-road pistes a day, on a step-through? Surely this is worth a few quid?

We have a target of 10k to raise and so far we've raised £240 so we're on our way there!

If any hubbers would like to donate our just giving page is:

Cheers!
