Sommer KTM Cash Missing!

I placed an order with Sommer KTM about 3 or 4 weeks ago to a guy called Oliver Nix. Although I've mailed about the stand and light guard since I've heard nothing. Has anyone lse ordered anything from these guys? If so can you tell me if this is normal!!!!!

Cheers..

Dave

I have ordered several times from Sommers and no problems, talked with Oliver, etc. I would suggest you call him as there may be a back order issue. I very good company.

I've had no major problems with Sommer either. In my experience the service is very good, although once a package went astray (I think it was the shipper's problem).

I suggest either calling, faxing or another e-mail. If you don't speak German, I believe they'll speak English if you call. If you haven't already try sending the e-mail to their general address rather than to Oliver personally.

I placed an order through Oliver almost 2 weeks ago now and haven't seen anything either. I emailed him on Wed asking what was going on, but no reply so far.

It does appear strange though as a few mates have used them before and had their orders within 2 days.

Geoff,

Maybe its holiday season.....?

I'll give them a ring this week and see what's going on. I'm getting a bit twitchy now as its only 3 weeks until I leave...

Hope it all comes together at the last minute (as usual) ...

I understand the pretrip anxiety. I suggest you call to find out whats going on.

I order all my bits from Sommers and have been dealing with Oliver Nix for a few years now. I have found him very knowledgeable, efficient and helpful.

Unless the local dealer has your parts I've found they are the fastest way to get anything sent anywhere.

If i have had a problem eg shipped they wrong part they more than make it up to me later.

I live ~75 miles from Sommers. Have dealt with Oliver for 3 years now. Have ordered, rather than visited, 8-10 times and only once had a problem. Placed an order about 2 months ago and it never showed up. Normally takes 2 days. I waited 2 weeks then Oliver sent another package with the same parts that did make it through. He tracked the first with the Post Office. It got as far as the Post Office and vanished.
You may want to have him re-send.

BTW, no major holidays going on in Germany right now other than random summer vacations.

I got a reply from Oliver Nix this morning Dave, apparently my order has been tracked and will be with me within 2 days.
As I leave on Thursday morning, I hope he's right.

Great idea, except there is one flaw in your plan:
If I spent all that money on , I would walk home very drunk and probably lose my wallet, mobile and keys on the way. Which would be harder to replace than the odd nuts and bulbs for the KTM. :-)

Today it all arrived!!!!!!!!!!!

That gives me 7 days to finish the prep before I leave.....!!!

Excellent!!!

So what about Sommer??

Well, I think the problem was partly hearing from everyone how good the service was. I expected a two or three day turnaround. A week at most. After 3 weeks and then 4 I was getting pretty worried!

I think the worst bit was the lack of feedback from them by mail or phone despite leaving loads of messages. All it would have taken was a mail saying something like, 'not in stock for two weeks, will send when it arrives'. And there would have been no worries or problems.

So all's well that ends well!!

Cheers for all the advice and support!!

Dave

Dave,
Ive had a similar experience with them, ordered bits in early June and went off to Canada, came back a month later expecting bits there and nothing - not even billed, few emails later Oliver is very apologetic and is sending me parts and covering the shipping fee.
I told hime that it had been mentioned on the HUBB and suggested they change the ordering system - he agreed and said this had happened a few times recently.
So hopefully things will improve - they are generally pretty helpful and knowledgable.
Cheers
