Inaccurate reserve fuel gauge??
A few years ago on the trans am trail a mate of mine on his 02 640 Adv ran out of fuel after about 10 miles when his bike went onto reserve warning. I would normally havfe expected about 30 miles min. Last night my bike did the same thing... I had to push the bastard 3 miles down a motorway hard shoulder after doing only 8 miles on my reserve warning light. I also usually get 30 +miles.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, whats the problems???? Dave |

Yes, on my '02 640 Adventure. I disconnected the bastard permanently. Useless.
Tie the wiring down or it will fall on the exhaust pipe. I use the reserve on the petcock and or turn the farside valve closed so the fuel cant cross over. Of course I reset the tripmeter so I have a good idea when your gas will be gone. Bill. |
