advice on 2003 640
So you are wondering around a bike shop with serious intent and you spy a 2003 640 Adventure with 11000k’s on the clock. You speak to the previous owner who is giving up freedom to buy a house and needs the cash. Mods to the bike are DellOrto PHM 40 flatside carb, DAM competition pipe (FAST, TORQUEY and POWERFUL), Original stock carb and pipe, KTM comfort seat (plus original stock seat), mount for Scott steering damper, bracket and external antenna for Garmin GPS.
He bought it in Dubai and did a multi day trail race once but mostly used it for exploring and a bit of dessert fun. The plastics look a little weary but nothing big and dented, looks like mostly close scrapes with the brush.
The question is, besides kicking the tyres and trying to look like I know what to look for, what should I pay attention to? What questions would you ask and what would you look and listen for?
