What To Do With California Model
Recently bought a '99 KLR650(with only 2750 miles!!) It's a California model(I don't live there)with smog devices. Any suggestions on what to do with this, and what effects it would have? Thanks--Porter ------------------ on the road(almost) and lovin' it!! KLR650-A13 'BURRO'

Ditch it. You'll save some weight, open space for a small storage box, and get a little performance boost. How-to instructions here http://klr6500.tripod.com/decalif.htm
I would do the doohickey first. Many KLR riders have found their levers and springs busted -- like mine, spring broke, just 3750 miles! If you're new to KLRs, be sure to check here for info on doohickey & everything else KLR... http://www.klr650.net/forum/index.php?s=
