kle500 missfire @ <4500 rpm
my 06 kle500 has suddenly developed a missfire following a fuel stop. It happened immediately after I restarted (nothing to do with the fuel).
symptoms lead me to think it's electrics, at 6000 rpm it pulls cleanly, no matter what the throttle position (so not the jets), at 2500-4500 rpm one pot is definitely completely cutting out and coming back in with a bang towards 6k. It's like an on/off switch. plugs are 1000 miles old, valves done too. may just be a loose connection, but it's too predictable, any ideas?? The c90 is going to be pressed into service once more

Maybe check rubber boots between carbs and cylinders for a good seal.

for anyone interested, It was indeed an electrical breakdown in one of the coils. A pair of 2nd hand coils sorted it. straight away
