KLE 500 running Ruff,,Ruff

Hello ..
This is my First time on this site so here i go ..
I have just brought a KLE 500 on a 03 plate the problem is it is running very lumpy on low revs then she pulls Quit well on higher rev i hav take a plug out and it look black if it is to rich .. Can any one give me some advice wat to look for this is my daily transport and its getting a pain in traffic.. the bike has a after market exhaust and apparently been dyno jettted. its going in the bike shop in the morning but i would love some advice .

KLE running rough

Hello There.

Please make sure you have the right heat range plug in there. The 400 use an "8" range, and the 500 the "9" range.

Then have your carbs checked. A plug running black, might not be rich, as there is no more lead in the fuel, the burning color tends to be more black than grey.

Also check the technical thread on this, as there might be some input there.

I had the same problem ,and found out it was a dud set of plugs. A new set fixed the problem. Just be careful to put the plugs in correctly, you will find my sad tale under the technical thread.

Hello,

You can also get this problem if air filter is dirty - fuel mixture is affected. Also if you have a gas filter take a look at it .
