Finish & Exhaust ???
well there as you may already no i am planning on purchasing a kle500 in and arround the 2007 year!
![]() anyway im sure i have tortured you all already but aww well .....unlucky here i go again with another rant! ![]() having sourced info on the kle and realised its a fun cheap bike that will suit my needs i.e touring long miles etc 2 problems arised! 1. the finish (frame plastics etc) 2. the exhaust (rust, downpipes finish etc) 1. i was wanting to know the finish on the plastics i.e any fading are they ridgid and what is the likelyhood of problems with rust on the frame? also are the plastics easily removed for self servicing and are they cheap if marked or scraped? also how easy are they modify if needed if i want to add extra lights etc! 2. the exhaust! i have read many articles which big up the kle500 untill the exhaust as in some cases i have read that the exhaust rusts in a matter of months quite badly and the downpipes also rust quite alot aswell? any info on cost to replace them? painting them with a protective cover or a road i think i would most likely go down is to replace them with a whole new system but this is where problems arise as i seem to find a few manufactures if any that make a full system for the kle500? any help on a new system and link would be great!![]() also any help pictures links to any of the above would be superb! cheers! ![]() DEATH BEFORE DECELLERATION!

Ive owned a few kawasaki bikes over the years and Ive found that the pipes always go a bit minty looking.
But when I changed the system on my ZX7r for a new akrapovic jobby, I discovered that its only a thin coating that covers the pipe and its very solid under this. I give my pipes a good clean from time to time and they seem fine on mine?. the bike is solid, no worries. Roy

hi
i have only had my kle since november and used in winter and no problems. just give it a good spray of wd40 all over and this should slow down any rust . my bike looks as good as when got it new,i give it a good polish when looking gruby and the plastics are still good as i said just give it a good dash of wd and should be all right i have seen a j reg kle around where i live and it is looking tatty very rusty but still runs well down pipes on all bike discolour and are first to go but after all they get all the crap of the road ps get a good chain lube and that will sort the chain |

any info on cost to replace them? painting them with a protective cover or a road i think i would most likely go down is to replace them with a whole new system but this is where problems arise as i seem to find a few manufactures if any that make a full system for the kle500? any help on a new system and link would be great!
