Buying a US KLR in UK
Hi I am thinking of buying a 2001 KLR in London that is originally from the US and I am guessing still has US plates it has been used to travel around Europe. I was wondering what steps I would need to take to get it UK registered and how much it would approximately all cost.
Any help greatly appreciated Thank you Ben |

Hi Ben,
£38 registration + road tax + number plate on top of that you need to get some sort of certificate that it conforms to UK specs. If your lucky a simple MOT will do the trick, if not you'll need an SVA - (very fancy MOT). best to contact Kawasaki UK and ask if they have a 'Certificate of Conformity' for your bike model/year - this will do instead of SVA. Easy enough task. Ask away if you have any more questions. All the best, Bal |
